Process Safety

Cornerstone of our Commitment to Safety

Process safety is the systematic management of hazards and risks to maintain the integrity of operating systems. It is a key pillar of our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) culture, and it starts with a firm commitment at all organizational levels. Linde’s process safety programs are bolstered by a solid understanding of hazards and risks, and the ability to manage risks effectively through a variety of work processes and measures.

The earlier we recognize and understand risk, the more effective we can be in managing it. Therefore, industry-recognized hazard analysis methods and tools are embedded into our process facility design and modification processes. We regularly review and update our procedures and technical standards to embrace state-of-the-art practices and factor in recent internal and industry learnings. Our process safety awareness and training program is an essential factor in the success of our safety management system.

Reflecting our commitment to continuously improving our process safety performance, we focus heavily on identifying and sharing lessons learned from all incidents – whether minor or major – and actively preventing such incidents from recurring at another time and place. In addition, our global assessment program includes evaluation of process safety management practices and implementation at Linde plants.
