Linde proudly opened the Afrox Women's Centre of Excellence in South Africa in June 2023. The Centre provides technical skills training for aspiring young female professionals through apprenticeships and learnerships ranging from 12 to 36 months. The Centre is operated and managed by women and will graduate its first 'class' of learners between September and December 2024. The Centre was established in partnership with Thuthukisa Institute NPC and is further supported by Linde's Global Giving Program.
Living Diversity
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion x Global Giving Collaborations
The collective power of Linde’s inclusive giving helps to address systemic inequalities and contribute to positive social change through our Global Giving Program.
"Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is evidenced through the actions we take and the progress we make - while knowing our work is never done. When we are intentional in our actions, even commonplace activities like charitable giving can help promote equity in the communities in which we operate."
- Michelle Loo, Executive Director Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Of the $12.6 million in charitable donations in 2023, Linde employees directed funds to organizations dedicated to advancing the needs of women, ethnic minorities, military veterans, people with disabilities and the LGBTQIA+ community.
In addition, around 21% of 2023 charitable grants supported STEM-related programs - much of which benefits women and under-represented groups around the world.
Creating Opportunities for our Diverse Talent
We are proud to see diversity in action via these "firsts" in our worldwide operations.
Linde's first woman-operated air separation unit (ASU) became operational in Patancheru, Hyderabad, India in October 2023. Set in a strategic location in the south, this facility caters to the requirements of a large segment of Linde's local healthcare and industrial gases customers, and produces high-quality Oxygen, Nitrogen and Argon.
To help local, displaced children better understand the opportunities available for achieving their full potential, Linde Engineering Malaysia conducted on-site training with residents of Trinity Home Care - a local 'sanctuary' for orphaned, abandoned, abused and neglected children. The Stands for Her curriculum included discussions on gender diversity as well as Linde values of Safety, Integrity, and Inclusion, with mentors assigned to each participant.
